About Us A private, family-owned company, Eagle Copters Ltd. was founded in 1975 by Mel O'Reilly, an entrepreneur with great foresight and energy. With a single helicopter, Eagle carried out field maintenance and component overhaul for several Canadian operators. As the company developed and Eagle's fleet expanded, Eagle Copters Maintenance Ltd., a subsidiary company, was incorporated in 1986 to undertake all inventory and maintenance functions. Today, Mel's son Mike – a pilot and aircraft maintenance engineer who has worked in the industry since age 13 – helps steer the company along its upward ascent as Eagle's President. Through dedicating over 35 years to the helicopter industry, Eagle has garnered a worldwide reputation as one of the leaders in leasing, maintenance and support of helicopters. To service its South American customers, Eagle established Eagle Copters South America (ECSA), based in Santiago, Chile: www.eaglecopters.cl. Also, furthering the diversity in the rotorcraft industry, Eagle purchased DART Aerospace Ltd., a design, certification, and manufacturing facility for aftermarket accessories based in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada: www.dartaero.com. Eagle Copters Ltd. leases its inventory of over 60 helicopters nationally and internationally. We support our fleet of helicopters and operators throughout the world with extensive engine, component and accessory exchange programs. Eagle Copters Maintenance Ltd. is a Department of Transport Maintenance Organization (AMO Certification Number 6-81), accepted FAA facility, accepted JAR-145 facility, Department of National Defense (DOD) certified contractor, and is approved by the Republic of Chile No. 333. The Eagle companies specialize in leasing, sales, maintenance & overhaul and spare parts support. Our 60,000+ square foot facility at Calgary International Airport accommodates component overhaul, engine overhaul, structures, avionics, paint, fuel control overhaul, maintenance facilities and a warehouse stocked with over 26,000 line items. Eagle is a Platinum Bell Customer Service Facility and an exclusive Canadian distributor for DART Aerospace Ltd.
