CALGARY AB, July 18th, 2023

Eagle Copters Ltd. is excited to announce the delivery and donation of a Bell 206B Jet Ranger to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

On July 12th, 2023 the 206B aircraft was delivered to the Art Smith Aero Centre, where it will serve as a valuable training aid for SAIT's Aircraft Maintenance courses. SAIT plays a crucial role in strengthening the aviation workforce in Calgary, and beyond.

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Technology program at SAIT equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Upon entering the aviation industry, students have the opportunity to work towards obtaining an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer "M" (AME) license. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician/Engineer, individuals are responsible for servicing and repairing aircraft and aircraft components. The program covers all aspects of aircraft maintenance, including general aviation, corporate, charter, transport category aircraft, and helicopters. This comprehensive two-year diploma program is conducted at the Art Smith Aero Centre for Training and Technology, conveniently located at the Calgary International Airport.

There are many opportunities within the rotorcraft (helicopter) sector.  Students at SAIT will have the opportunity to work on helicopters that provide many critical services including utility/aerial firefighting, HEMS, law enforcement, and charter flights. This experience, combined with an organization like Eagle Copters, will give these students many great opportunities in their field of work.

Eagle Copters takes pride in supporting the education of students in these programs and recognizes the significant role that training tools play in their success.  The company looks forward to future collaborations with SAIT, as actions like this donation not only provide an excellent training aid for students but also strengthen the relationship between Eagle Copters and SAIT.

"We are excited to partner with SAIT on future endeavours. Donations like this will not only enhance the students' training experience but also further strengthen the bond between Eagle Copters and SAIT." - Joshua Bonderoff, Planning Manager, Eagle Copters.
